Am Fest Christi Himmelfahrt und den drei Tagen zuvor werden seit langer Zeit in der Kirche Bittprozessionen gehalten. Die wichtigste Bitte dieser Prozessionen ist die Bitte um günstige Witterung, um eine gute Ernte und um die Bewahrung vor Hitzeperioden, Überschwemmung und anderen Naturkatastrophen. Mit diesen Bitten verbinden die Gläubigen viele andere persönliche Bitten. In Gisingen hat sich die Tradition der Bittprozessionen gehalten, zwei wurden im Dorf selbst gehalten und eine ging nach Nofels. Die Gruppe der betenden Männer und Frauen hat stellvertretend für die ganze Ortsbevölkerung den Segen Gottes für Gisingen erbeten.
